We build community in Shirley through projects and events that give opportunities for people to interact, form relationships, share experiences and develop capacity and resilience.

Shirley Community Trust is for everyone in Shirley, providing spaces to connect, contribute, have fun and belong. People can meet at our Community Centres or our Community Garden, and join in with a wide range of activities … or just sit and chat with others.

For over 20 years the Trust has aimed to support all who work, live and play in Shirley, together growing community.  We are privileged to be a part of this wonderful journey.

Our Values

  • Hauora – a holistic approach, physical, emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing
  • Listening to the people of Shirley – their voices guide what we do
  • Trust – earned through building strong connections and relationships
  • Collaboration – with community and other organisations
  • Entrepreneurship – looking to the future and trying new things
  • Commitment – here for the long haul

Shirley Summer Holiday Programme

14-16 & 21-23 January 2025

Term 2 starts on Monday which means we resume normal programming 🤗 Kapa Haka and Te Reo Māori sessions are back on Wednesday at the MacFarlane Park Community Centre 👍

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. 🌺
